CES 2027 in Las Vegas: dates, where it happens and how to book around it
CES, the Consumer Technology Association's technology trade show, returns to Las Vegas from January 6 to 9, 2027. It is the city's biggest convention week: hotel rates near the Las Vegas Convention Center multiply, and the first full week of January stops being the bargain it usually is.

Attendees should register with the organiser early and book a north Strip or convention-corridor hotel the day the dates are confirmed. Leisure visitors should avoid January 5 to 10 entirely or accept a downtown or south Strip base far from the halls.

The event
CES is the technology industry's annual show, powered by the Consumer Technology Association, and it runs in Las Vegas from Wednesday, January 6 to Saturday, January 9, 2027. The Las Vegas Convention Center on Paradise Road is the main campus, with further venues listed by the organiser each year.
It is an industry event: attendees register through the organiser, which sets the eligibility rules, and there is no walk-up public admission.
How the city changes
CES is the one week when the north Strip and the convention corridor fill first. Hotel rates around the convention center climb well above their January norm, taxi and rideshare queues at the halls run long at opening and closing, and restaurants near the Strip's north end take bookings days out.
If your trip is not about the show, choose different January dates or base downtown or on the south Strip, where the halls are a long ride away and the crowds thin.

- January mornings are cold and the halls are spread out; wear shoes for a full day of walking between campuses.
